It is in Le Locle, the Mecca of timekeeping, the Albert and Gustave Stolz brothers distinguished watchmakers and students of Henri Sandoz, who led the House Tavannes create the Angelus watchmaking factory in 1891. In 1898, the third brother Charles Stolz, who completed his watchmaking apprenticeship, entered in the association. From 1904, Angelus will specialize in the manufacture of watch complications, particularly repetition and chronographs, whose craftsmanship is crowned with awards in major exhibitions like in Liege in 1905, Milan in 1906 or in Berne 1914. the first wrist chronographs Angelus appear in 1925. what characterizes wrist chronographs of the second half of the 1930s is the great variety of form boxes and anses.En 1942 Angelus does indeed feel leaving the first chronograph with calendar serialized, named first ChronoDate then Chronodato from 1943.
