* Soup Augustus (1884-1962)

French artist, began modestly in life as a laborer. After attending evening classes at the School of Fine Arts in Roubaix (he had as teacher the famous painter Harpignies), painting became his livelihood. Inhabitant of Amiens, Soup is committed to the city and Picardy which take up considerable space in his paintings, watercolors and drawings. But the eclecticism of the soup to work also grows in other areas, especially Britain and the Perigord, which inspired a large part of his works. He has also produced religious paintings including stained glass windows for the cathedral of Amiens. Some of his paintings shown at the Museum of Peronne.
