Watercolor signed Georges Cyr, representing boats at sea on the Normandy coast, Pourville sur Mer, vintage twentieth century.
This watercolor is in good condition, in its own juice. She is under glass. Signed lower right.
A note: some stains and yellowing on the paper (a bit stung in places), some accidents and wear on the frame, look at the pictures.
is a Lebanese painter of French origin. He began to be a painter recognized in Paris when a personal drama made him leave France in 1934. He chose, almost by chance, Lebanon, where he was to spend twenty-seven years. He sold watercolors, to live. Cyr's pictorial objects were typically French and he used what he had learned from painting. For him, cubism seemed to be the only possible structure, the only pictorial foundation of modernity.
