MORLAINE
MORLAINE was born in Nantes in 1953.
He studies at the Beaux-arts de Nantes in interior architecture.
After his studies, he devoted himself to watercolor.
Installed in the Guérandaise Peninsula, the sea becomes its theme.
MORLAINE paints the old rigs, ports, coasts, charming villas.
Exhibitions follow one another in Paris, Versailles and Nantes. But also in Belgium, England and the Netherlands.
In 1994, MORLAINE discovered pastel.
Magic pigment, beautifully powdery, intensely luminous.
With this technique, he presents for the first time at the GALLERY OUTREMER in La Baule pastels in full color, underlined in black, without realistic accuracy.
The movement is expressed with force by an offbeat writing where everything changes: Horizon, villages, sails, pines twisted by the wind…
In 2010, thanks to a work on the salt marshes, he synthesized the subject, making much larger compositions, going towards abstraction, structured in solid areas of color.
Posters and magazine covers are regularly produced for the DERBYS in La Baule.
