Superb and rare gouache representing the schooner La Vendee leaving the port of Les Sables d'Olonne, signed Gilbert Pajot * vintage twentieth century.
This gouache is in good condition. It is under glass. It is marked "The Thatch street Yser Les Sables d'Olonne Vendée" left.
A note: small task humidity lower right, small tasks and light jaunissure paper, wear time on frame, see photos.
Son of the famous painter Paul-Emile Pajot. Both sailors and artists are not the official painters of the Navy but the boats and ships representations form the bulk of the work of the father as the son. Paul Pajot was a sailor, he became a self-taught painter, his work consists of gouaches, watercolors and drawings often accompanied by down legends. His son Gilbert followed in his footsteps and a few so continued his work being gouachiste and draftsman.
