Watercolour of a view of a street in a village in Normandy, various animated characters by Charles Huard *, having been exposed to the Museum of Montmartre in 1974, vintage early twentieth century.

This watercolor is in good condition and frame. It is under glass. It is signed by the shop stamp Charles Huard. It has a label on the back of the Montmartre Museum for the exhibition in 1974 by Charles Huard / Catalog No. 144 town in Normandy / Owned Mr A. Richard.

A note: slight wear of time on the frame, see photos.

Charles Huard * (1874-1905):

illustrator, designer of this type, was appreciated by the best minds of his time. He liked to practice his verve to embody through provincial in comic figures and snowmen. His illustration of the complete works of Balzac is well known to bibliophiles. (Cf Bénézit)
