Large gilded wood sculpture representing a large sheaf of wheat tied by a straw cord forming a knot on the front, bakery or jewelry store sign, probably "A La Gerbe d'Or", from the 18th century.
This sculpture is in good condition and is of exceptional quality. Two examples of similar sheaf of wheat signs are kept at the Carnavalet Museum in Paris.
Note: old break restored before gilding (visible on the back, on one side of the ears of wheat), some tiny old worm holes, some wear and lack of gilding in places, wear and tear over time, look carefully at the photos.
