Carved walnut panel representing in an oval reserve an antique woman holding a sword and a scale, Allegory of Justice; above an eagle with outstretched wings, all among plant arabesques, decoration enhanced by the inlay of two breccia marble plaques, from the late 16th-early 17th centuries.
This panel is in good general condition, in its original condition. It is most certainly the decoration of a door of a Renaissance cabinet (these cabinets, fashionable at that time, often presented different allegories on their doors: Justice, Virtue, Wisdom, Peace, etc.).
Please note: some accidents and losses on the wood (notably on the frame), some accidents and wear on the decorations, small cracks on the marble tiles (see red arrows), see photos.
