* Paul Marie Guibé (1841-1922):

is a French sculptor and painter. A student of Jean-Auguste Barre, Paul Guibé was in turn a collaborator of Henri Chapu and Pierre-Marie-François Ogé. He exhibited at the Salon from 1875 to 1881 and received two honorable mentions in 1883 and 1885. He was appointed officer of the academy in 1889 while he was teaching in Oran. His best-known works are preserved in his hometown.
Paul Guibé is frequently cited for having produced his works as a collaborator.
The monumental pulpit of the Notre-Dame-d'Espérance basilica in Saint-Brieuc, in collaboration with Henri Chapu, is an assembly of several hundred pieces sculpted in oak wood. The whole measures approximately 6.50 m high, 3.60 m wide and 2.40 meters deep. This pulpit (or its plaster sketches) was sent to Philadelphia for the Universal Exhibition of 1876. ** Hubert of Liège, one of the Saint Huberts (656 or 658-727) is a Christian saint, bishop of Tongres and Maastricht, patron saint of hunters and foresters. He is also the patron saint of the Belgian city of Liège.
Since the 15th century it has been said that Lord Hubert was so passionate about hunting that he forgot his duties. Legend has it that he could not resist his passion one Good Friday, and having found no one to accompany him, he went hunting without any company. On this occasion, he began to hunt a white ten-horned stag when it leapt out of a thicket, stopped dead and turned around. It was then that his hunter saw a crucifix between its antlers. The animal then introduced itself as the Crucified One and asked him to convert.
