Carved boxwood statuette representing the Virgin Mary carrying the Child Jesus on her right arm, the latter holding the orb or globe in his hand, from the late 18th century.
This sculpture is in good condition and is of superb quality. The quality of the drapery as well as the hairstyle of the Virgin can make us think of an inspiration from the Italo-Flemish school of the 17th-18th centuries.
Please note: one of Jesus' feet has been glued back together, as has a hand, some cracks and wear on the wood, take a good look at the photos.
