Companion of the Apostle Paul. He practiced medicine (Col 4:14) and he followed Paul in his first trips to Macedonia and then into his detention in Rome (2Ti 4:11). It is considered the author of the Third Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Acts of the Apostles. Luke is symbolized by the bull, animal sacrifice, because his gospel begins with the evocation of a sacrificing priest serving the Temple of Jerusalem: Zechariah, the father of John the Baptist.
